RetroArch supports 3 of these languages: CG: Old, deprecated format. On Unix-likes, SIGINT/SIGTERM allows a clean deinitialization. Shaders can also be used to display the handheld border: Shader languages and shader presets Shaders are small programs, and they are written in specific programming languages. We support operating systems that not even Microsoft and Apple themselves support anymore, such as macOS on PowerPC Macs, and RetroArch being available on Windows OSes as far back as Windows 95. Killing it in any hard way (SIGKILL, etc) will terminate RetroArch without saving RAM, etc. One of Retroarch’s excellent features is the ability to use shaders as a means of enhancing the visual appearance of games and other content. And sorry, I don't use borders and have no experience in combining shaders. For every shader pass you can configure: - Shader N: Path to a shader. The shader I use I found in shaders/shadersglsl/handheld, and its filename is 'lcd. You can edit shader presets or build your own using these tools: - Shader Passes: The number of shader passes to use. Also I neglected to remember where I obtained this shader-it may just be included with whatever shaders come from the online updater in RetroArch. Im using Shaders from the old-school analog TV pack version 2 by Solid12345 and they look AMAZING. Playing old games like SNES, Genesis, NES, Atari, Arcade without any kind of shader (or worse - upscaled or stretched) - the games just look completely flat and wrong on modern monitors. Then you can save it as a preset for your core in RetroArch menu in example. Yes, but I should warn you that I dont really understand how shaders work, so they may not work for everyone. Its worth it for the CRT shader support alone. RetroArch can run on the usual platforms like Windows, macOS and Linux, but it stands alone in that it can support far more platforms beyond just that.
